Intel Microprocessor Identification Utility (English only) [CPUID.EXE] May 1997: This Intel Microprocessor Identification Utility is designed to identify the type of Intel microprocessor your PC contains. It is intended for use on systems which are running in real mode. This utility has been updated to detect the Pentium(R) II processor. It will also tell you if your Pentium processor has the floating point divide flaw. This is an English only version.

It is intended for use on systems which are running in real mode. It will also tell you whether or not your Pentium(R) processor has the floating point divide flaw. If you are downloading this utility from Intel's web site, after doubleclicking on the file, save to a temp directory on your C: drive. After saving the file, to run the Microprocessor Identification Utility, exit Windows*, OS/2* or Unix* to DOS.
After the program runs, the identification of the microprocessor is displayed on screen. If the program identifies yours as a Pentium processor containing the floating point divide flaw, you can receive authorization for a replacement at any time during the life of your PC by calling Intel's Pentium Processor Support Hotline. If the program displays the message that it is not running in real mode, then you should do the following: For users who downloaded the Intel Microprocessor Identification Utility, you will need to format a system diskette.
