Intel CPU Identification Utility for Windows* (multilanguage)[CPUID.EXE]

April 1998: The Intel CPUID Utility for Windows* is designed to identify the Intel microprocessor contained in your PC. It is intended for use on systems which are running Windows 95 or Windows NT*. This utility will also tell you if your Pentium(R) processor has the floating point divide flaw. This multi-language version supports English, French, German, Italian, Portugese, and Spanish languages. Note: If you do not have Windows 95 or Windows NT installed on your system, download the CPUID Utility for DOS*(English Only) to identify the Intel microprocessor in your PC.

Users Downloading from Intel's Website

  1. Download CPUID.EXE file to an empty, temporary directory.
  2. Go to Windows Explorer or File Manager.
  3. Locate and double-click on CPUID.EXE to expand the file.
  4. Respond Y to following system query: Continue file extraction?
  5. Double-click on CPUIDW.EXE file to execute utility.
  6. Read and agree to the Intel Software License Agreement.
  7. The utility will run and provide details about your Intel microprocessor.
  8. Exit the utility and Windows Explorer or File Manager.

Users With the CPUID Utility for Windows diskette ===============================================

  1. Make sure the CPUID Utility for Windows diskette is in Drive A and is not write protected.
  2. Go to Windows Explorer or File Manager.
  3. Click on A drive icon (A:)
  4. Locate CPUIDW.EXE file.
  5. Double-click on CPUIDW.EXE file to execute utility.
  6. Read and agree to the Intel Software License Agreement.
  7. The utility will run and provide details about your Intel microprocessor.
  8. Exit the utility and Windows Explorer or File Manager.
