Ontrak Control Systems specializes in the design and manufacture of serial based (RS232/RS485) data acquisition and control interfaces. Applications include industrial control, SCADA, data logging, ATE, remote control, automotive, point-of-sale, medical instrumentation, data acquisition and robotics. Products can be developed by modifying existing products ( see web page ) or from the ground up.
Applications in service now include, remote data loggers, token dispenser controllers, flight simulator interfaces, automotive sensor monitors, remote telecommunications equipment monitors, stepper motor controllers, quadrature encoder interfaces, PLC I/O expanders, truck scales, temperature controllers and many others.
Prototype and production runs from 1 to 1000+ units can be assembled, calibrated and tested in our facility. Complete engineering and user documentation options available. |

James David Smith has been operating Soundsculpture Incorporated since 1989. He specializes in microprocessor based solutions for arts, entertainment, and advertising.
Mr. Smith teaches embedded electronics control and microcontroller technology for the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, University of Toronto, using custom hardware based on the PIC16F877 and 17C756.
Soundsculpture has produced custom electronics for Disney Theatrical Productions, Livent Inc., Production Arts Lighting, and many other customers, used in productions of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, The Phantom of the Opera, Ragtime, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Les Miserables, The Goodbye Girl, Crazy for You, and many other shows.
Catalog products include the RC3 Digital Radio Control System for theatrical lights and motors, and the SRC line of electronic candle flames (as seen in Phantom).
Custom design, which is the bulk of Soundsculpture's work, focusses on wireless data transmission, motor control, and lighting control. Recently completed designs for commercial customers include the Tymestart car-starter system, the SwingPro golf swing analyzer, and multi-frame advertising signs for Revolution Display Systems Inc (see www.revpower.com). |
