----------------------- About Nikon View 1.1 ----------------------- Thank you for purchasing the Nikon COOLPIX 300 digital camera. Please read this important information; which is not included on the manual. 1. Note for SCSI interface users: --------------------------------- You should turn the power to the COOLPIX 300 on prior to starting Windows95. If you started Windows95 prior to turning on the camera, please follow these steps: a) Open the Control Panels directory. This can be done by clicking once on the "START" button in your task bar. This button is usually located at the bottom left corner of the screen. Once the Start Menu has appeared, go to the "Settings" submenu, and select "Control Panel" from that submenu. A new window will appear that contains the system control panels. b) Double-click on the "System" icon in this window. A window called "System Properties" will appear. c) Select the tab with the title "Device Manager" to bring the "Device Manager" page to the front of the "System Properties" window. d) Click once on the "Refresh" button and wait for the "hourglass" cursor to return to an "arrow" cursor. e) Close the "System Properties" window. We strongly recommend that you use one of the supported SCSI host adapters, listed on a document supplied in the COOLPIX 300 box, to communicate with the camera via SCSI. 2. Nikon View: -------------- Known issues with the Nikon View 1.0.0.3000 release: - The Nikon View TWAIN source does not work with the current shipping version of Nikon Control. Nikon Control is the software that ships with Nikon scanner products. If you have both Nikon View and Nikon Control, you should either use the Nikon View application or a third-party application (such as Adobe Photoshop) to acquire images from the COOLPIX 300 digital camera. - Please use the "TWAIN_32" Select Source menu item if you are using an application that has both "TWAIN" and "TWAIN_32" TWAIN Select Source menu items. - Some applications do not support acquisition of multiple images via a TWAIN source. In these cases, you may encounter a situation in which only the first image in a series of selected images is acquired, or in which the application returns an error message. You may only be allowed to acquire one image at a time.
