Owing to the differences in function, Nikon View 5 can not coexist on the same computer with Nikon View earlier versions: Nikon View version 3, Nikon View DX, and Nikon View 4.  Before deciding whether to upgrade to Nikon View 5, be sure you understand the differences between Nikon View 5 and earlier versions.

Like Nikon View 4, Nikon View 5 can be used to transfer pictures to the computer and register pictures in a database using image database software.  In addition, it can be used to view or print pictures that have been saved to the computer hard disk after transfer and display them in automated slide shows.

Although Nikon View 5 can not be used to browse pictures on the memory card before transfer, you can select pictures for transfer beforehand using the camera’s protect or transfer marking options.  Nikon View 5 can not be used to resize of pictures during transfer.
