First synthesis and characterization of isolable thioselenenic acid, triptycene-9-thioselenenic acid

The compounds in ref. 8(a) (G. Polidoro, P. De Cicco, S. Di Luzio and G. Federici, Boll. Soc. Ital. Biol. Sper., 1979, 55, 2346) were incorrectly cited as Cys-SeSH and (Cys-Se)₂ [Cys = (HO₂C)(H₂N)CHCH₂], and the correct structures are H₂NCH₂CH₂SeSH and (H₂NCH₂CH₂Se)₂, respectively. Thus, Cys-SeSH (compound 1, page 2810, line 18 of the left column and line 15 of the right column), (Cys-Se)₂ (page 2810, line 13 of the right column), and "2-amino-3-propionyl (Cys) group" (page 2811, line 8 of the left column) should be read as H₂NCH₂CH₂SeSH (compound 1), (H₂NCH₂CH₂Se)₂, and "2-aminoethyl group", respectively. Our results and conclusions are not changed by the correction.
