Your attention is drawn to the terms and conditions of the Software License Agreement (in file lic_agr.txt) regarding the use of NAG software. Any request to use this software other than on the licensed computer must be referred to NAG, as should requests for information about the availability of other implementations.
This implementation is a compiled, tested, ready-to-use version of the NAG Toolbox for MATLAB that is considered suitable for use on the computer systems detailed below:
hardware: x86-32 systems and compatible operating system: Microsoft Windows XP/2000/2003/Vista MATLAB Version: 7.4 (R2007a), 7.5 (R2007b), 7.6 (R2008a)The toolbox is self-contained, but a licence for Mark 21 of the NAG Fortran Library must be installed and available. This product is compatible with the following products without any further configuration.
For an up-to-date list of compatible products, please see the Web page
http://www.nag.co.uk/numeric/MB/qualifying_libs_w32.asp
The user needs to have MATLAB installed. This implementation may work with versions of MATLAB later that 7.6 (R2008a).
If you choose to have your MATLAB path updated during installation, the file toolbox\local\pathdef.m will be modified. If you choose not to have your path modified then there are a number of ways in which this may be done by hand. Search for "matlab path" in the MATLAB online help system for one method, and for pointers to several others. If updating by hand then it is essential to ensure that the folder containing the help files appears in the MATLAB path after that containing the executable files. For example, if the you install the toolbox under C:\MyMatlab then your MATLAB path should contain the folders:
Help material 16Mb Toolbox files 66Mb
If you have an earlier version of the NAG Toolbox for MATLAB already installed, we recommend that you uninstall it before installing this version.
You must have Administrator privileges to install this software.
If you have a compatible NAG Fortran Library (see Section 2.1) with a valid licence already installed, then it is only necessary to install the Toolbox itself. If you do not already have a suitable Library product installed, then please install the NAG Fortran Library supplied with the Toolbox first. (The Library installation is supplied on the CD or available for download.) Follow the instuctions supplied with the Library for obtaining and installing a licence key.
If you have the toolbox materials on CD, insert the CD into your CD
drive to display the NAG CD browser. Click on the
e:\run_cd_browser.batto run the browser, or run e:\setup.exe to run the toolbox installation directly, where e is the drive letter for your CD drive.
If you have downloaded the toolbox materials from our website, run the self-extracting executable to start the installation.
After installation, you should ensure that the software described in Section 3.1 is present and accessible.
If the help materials are correctly installed, then on starting the MATLAB Help browser you should see the entry NAG Toolbox in the Contents list.
A quick test that the software has been correctly installed is to type s07aa(0) at the MATLAB prompt to calculate tan(0). This should return the answer 0.
To test that a valid licence is available, type a00ac at the MATLAB prompt. This will return 1 if a valid licence is found, or 0 otherwise.
This software is provided with an uninstallation facility via
Control Panel|Add or Remove Programson Windows XP, or via
Control Panel|Programs and Features|Uninstall or change a programon Windows Vista.
Running the setup program again will allow you either to install another instance of the toolbox to a different location (e.g. under a different release of MATLAB), or to select an instance of the toolbox to uninstall by selecting the Maintain or update the instance of this application shown below option and the appropriate instance and then selecting the Remove option from the next dialog.
On-line documentation, accessible via the standard MATLAB help facilities, is bundled with this implementation. Please see Section 4.
The NAG Response Centres are available for general enquiries from all users and also for technical queries from sites with an annually licensed product or support service.
The Response Centres are open during office hours, but contact is possible by fax, email and phone (answering machine) at all times.
When contacting a Response Centre, it helps us deal with your enquiry quickly if you can quote your NAG site reference and NAG product code (in this case MBDLL214Z).
The NAG websites provide information about implementation availability, descriptions of products, downloadable software, product documentation and technical reports. The NAG websites can be accessed at the following URLs:
