Intel has been participating in an industry-wide effort to provide bandwidth management for Intranet sites and the Internet. RSVP (ReSerVation Protocol) has become an Internet standard (RFC/IETF) supported by major vendors such as Cisco, Bay Networks, MCI and Microsoft.

At Networld+Interop, Intel, Cisco and MCI announced they are conducting a series of customer trials to demonstrate the benefits of RSVP.

Intel has developed the Intel PC-RSVP software, which is designed to implement the RSVP standard defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

Intel’s PC-RSVP software is available from Intel. Software developers can license PC-RSVP for Windows* 95 or Windows NT* from Intel by completing the Software License Request form, paying the applicable license fee, and agreeing to the terms of Intel’s PC-RSVP Redistribution License Request.
