PIC18CXXX ARCHITECTURE FEATURES COMPLETE SOFTWARE, HARDWARE DESIGN REUSABILITY

18CXX22.gif (14463 bytes)

Now from Microchip Technology Inc., the world's first 8-bit RISC microcontroller (MCU) architecture to provide complete software and hardware design reusability for embedded control engineers. The evolutionary PIC18CXXX architecture allows the thousands of existing PICmicroŽ 8-bit RISC MCU users to seamlessly migrate their designs to higher integration while maintaining their code investment, engineering knowledge and hardware investment in existing printed circuit boards.

The PIC18CXXX architecture is an enhanced RISC core that is upwardly compatible from Microchip's PIC16C5X 12-bit architecture, PIC12CXXX and PIC16CXXX 14-bit architecture, and PIC17CXXX 16-bit architecture - providing a seamless software migration path to higher integration.

The PIC18CXXX architecture has two million bytes of program memory address space, a C compiler optimized core, a user-friendly development environment and 10 MIPS performance. With the flexible PICmicro architecture and maximum design reusability, you can be assured of having reliable technology, products and support to meet your design challenges.

What’s more, Microchip can deliver the whole product solution to give you the competitive advantage you need: competitive price/performance, consistent delivery, easy to use development systems and worldwide field-application support. The PICmicro MCU family is comprised of more than 500 different device configurations (See our Product Line Card)  with one-time-programmable (OTP), FLASH and ROM memory options for the most appropriate stage of your product life cycle.
