Mark Byrne of Greatfield Electronic Design, is a graduate of the University of London (Chelsea College) with a B.Sc. (Honors) in Physics and Electronics whose PIC16/17 programming experience goes back more than 13 years. He has been a full-time free-lance design engineer for more than 10 years. Since the launch of OTP devices, well over half of Byrne's work has involved the use of the PIC16/17 microcontroller family.
Byrne has a wide range of experience in hardware, software and system design over a diverse collection of projects and applications, some of which are listed below. MLE has wide experience of working in the medical, commercial, industrial and military / aerospace sectors. We are ISO9001 quality accredited and provide services including consultancy, design, manufacture and production support.
Typical design applications include instrumentation, power supply, motor drive control, communications, interfaces, GPS, display systems and software using analogue and digital electronics in conjunction with PIC microcontrollers.
Power supply: AC-DC, DC-AC, DC-DC, UPS and switch mode.
Motor drive control: Various drive control technologies including for DC brushless and switched flux motors.
Communications and interfaces: RS232 / RS485, fieldbus / profibus, USB, remote data applications, modems, GPS datalogging and RFID tagging.
Display systems: LCD / LED intelligent mimic panels to remote display screens for domestic use.
Instrumentation: We have a broad experience of instrument, control and signal circuit design using both integrated and discrete components.
Electronic product and prototype design
By using in house CAE simulation software, PCB design software and prototype PCB manufacture we can provide rapid product/prototype designs. Once designed, our manufacturing facility allows testing of the complete documentation package.
Our knowledge of a wide range of electronic technologies and manufacturing techniques allows us to design competitive products that may be smaller and more power efficient than present designs.
We design using state of the art leading edge electronics and benefit from being a member of the highest level (gold) Arizona Microchip consultants program.
To many of our customers MLE is perceived as an extension of their in-house design team. We believe that our specialist skills provide very cost effective design solutions, producing a large saving over the product lifespan by increased reliability, efficiency and functionality. |
